Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Direct Parcel Distributors Inc., an Ontario corporation based in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, operating under the registered business name Lumina Dev Apps, collects, uses, and safeguards information when you use our iOS and macOS applications. This policy applies to all applications published under the Lumina Dev Apps brand.
Our applications differ widely in what they do, and therefore in what data they touch. Some operate entirely offline and collect nothing at all; others include AI or messaging features that necessarily send data to a service provider. Each section below states which applications it applies to. Where a section does not name an application, that section does not apply to it.
Applications Covered
This Privacy Policy applies to all current and future applications developed and published by Lumina Dev Apps, including but not limited to:
Applications That Collect No Data
The following applications make no network requests of any kind. They contain no accounts, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no advertising identifiers, and they transmit no data to us or to any third party. For these applications, the sections below covering AI features, third-party services, and data sharing do not apply.
- CardVault — a personal card organiser. Cards you scan are stored only on your device: metadata in a local database protected with iOS
FileProtectionType.complete, and sensitive values and card images in the iOS Keychain usingkSecAttrAccessibleWhenUnlockedThisDeviceOnly, which excludes them from iCloud and iTunes backups and prevents them being restored onto another device. - CardVault — scanning and text recognition. Card scanning uses Apple's VisionKit document scanner and text recognition runs entirely on-device using Apple's Vision framework. No image and no recognised text is ever sent to a server — not to us, not to Apple, and not to any AI service. You review and may correct or delete every field before it is saved.
- CardVault — biometric access. Face ID or Touch ID gates access to the app and to hidden card values. Biometric matching is performed entirely by iOS; CardVault receives only a yes-or-no result and never receives, sees, or stores your fingerprint or face data.
- CardVault — encrypted backup. CardVault can produce an optional backup file at your request. The file is encrypted with a passphrase you choose, using AES-256-GCM with a key derived via HKDF-SHA256, before it leaves the app, and you choose where it is saved. This is the only circumstance in which CardVault data can leave your device, it happens only when you initiate it, and we never receive the file and cannot decrypt it. If you lose the passphrase, the file cannot be recovered — by us or by anyone.
- Lumina Sensors — Real-time system monitoring for iPhone, Mac, and Apple Vision. Reads the system's four-level thermal state — Nominal, Fair, Serious, Critical — alongside live CPU load, memory usage, battery, storage, and device specs including core count, system version, and uptime. It reports only what documented Apple APIs actually return: no invented numbers, no unverifiable CPU temperatures.
Deleting an item removes it and its stored values from your device. Deleting the application removes all of its data. Backup files you have saved elsewhere are not affected and must be deleted by you.
Information We Collect
Our applications are designed to minimize data collection. No application requests all of the following — each requests only what its own features require, always with your explicit permission, and only for the applications named in each item. Applications listed above as collecting no data request none of it.
- Contact Information — such as name, email, or phone number, when you reach out to us directly.
- Device Contacts — accessed only when you grant explicit permission for features that require it.
- Microphone & Speech Data — used locally for translation, pronunciation, or voice-input features.
- Camera Access — used for barcode scanning, document capture, or photo features.
- Photos Library Access — used by photo-based apps (such as PhotoCalendar and PhotoAlbum Pro) to import images you select. Selected photos are processed locally on your device and are not uploaded to our servers.
- Email Data — only when using communication features that require email integration.
- Health-Related Inputs — entered manually by users of medical apps (HealthDeck, PharmDeck, NurseToolkit, DoctorToolkit, MedStudy AI) and stored locally on your device.
- Inventory, Pricing & Business Data — entered by users of business apps (SwiftRegister, EasyInventory, ProInvoice, PriceTag) and stored locally or in your chosen cloud account.
- Account & Profile Information — for messaging apps (such as TamilChat), a phone number and display name are used to create your account and let other users find you. Authentication is handled through Google Firebase.
- Messages, Calls & Shared Content — in messaging apps (such as TamilChat), the messages, media, documents, and call signaling you send are transmitted to deliver them to your chosen recipients. Voice and video calls use a peer-to-peer (WebRTC) connection where possible. Translation and transliteration features process text on-device using Apple's frameworks.
All data access is permission-based and controlled by you through your device settings.
How We Use Your Information
Information collected is used solely to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our application features.
- Respond to support requests and communications.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or behavioral tracking.
AI & Third-Party Services
Some of our applications include AI-powered features (such as differential diagnosis in DoctorToolkit, AI-generated flashcards and OSCE simulation in MedStudy AI, grammar correction in AI Girl Tutor, resume generation in AI Resume Builder, and step-by-step math tutoring in MathSolverAI). This section applies only to those applications. Applications not named here — including CardVault and Lumina Sensors — contain no AI features and send no data to any AI provider. When you use an AI feature in an application that has one:
- The text or input you provide may be sent to Anthropic (the AI provider) to generate a response.
- For applications that accept photo input (such as MathSolverAI), the photo you select or capture is sent to Anthropic solely to identify the content of the image (for example, the math problem written on the page) and generate an educational response. Photos are not stored by Lumina Dev Apps and are used only for the duration of the request.
- No personally identifying information is sent unless you explicitly include it in your input.
- Anthropic's data handling is governed by their own privacy policy, available at anthropic.com/legal/privacy.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing or commercial purposes. Information may only be shared in the following limited circumstances:
- With service providers strictly necessary for app functionality (e.g., Apple's App Store, Anthropic's AI services, and Google Firebase for messaging apps such as TamilChat).
- With other users you choose to communicate with, in the case of messaging apps — your messages and shared content are delivered to the recipients you select.
- When required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights.
Data Storage & Security
The vast majority of data created in our applications is stored locally on your device. Where cloud storage is offered (such as iCloud sync), it uses Apple's secure infrastructure and your existing Apple ID.
Applications handling sensitive information store it using the protections iOS provides for that purpose — local databases protected with FileProtectionType.complete, which makes them unreadable while the device is locked, and the iOS Keychain with kSecAttrAccessibleWhenUnlockedThisDeviceOnly for individual secret values, which keeps them out of iCloud and iTunes backups. Where an application copies a sensitive value to the clipboard, the value is marked local to your device so it is not shared with your other Apple devices, and is cleared automatically shortly afterwards.
Messaging applications (such as TamilChat) store account information, messages, and shared media using Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, and Cloud Storage) so that content can be delivered across devices and to your chosen recipients. Firebase's handling of this data is governed by Google's privacy policy.
We implement reasonable technical and organizational security measures to protect information transmitted to our services. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Children's Privacy
Our applications are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Apps marketed to younger audiences (such as KidLearn) operate entirely on-device with no data collection.
Your Rights & Choices
You have the right to:
- Manage permissions at any time through your device's Settings app.
- Delete locally stored data by removing the application or clearing it within app settings.
- Request information about any personal data we may hold by contacting us at the email below.
- Request deletion of any personal data we may hold.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available at luminadevapps.com/privacy-policy, with the "Last updated" date reflecting the most recent revision.
